LCK 2026 Finals Media Day: Coaches and AD Carries Name Their Toughest Threats

At CHZZK LoL Park in Jonggak, the LCK 2026 Finals media day had T1, Gen.G Esports and Hanwha Life Esports each send their head coach and two players to face the press. According to Inven Global, none of the coaches played it safe. Gen.G head coach Yoo Sang-wook said T1 are tough because they create variables at a high rate, while Hanwha Life are dangerous due to aggressive plays such as tower dives. He also named Zeus and T1’s bot lane as major concerns. Hanwha Life head coach Yoon Sung-young focused on the AD carry matchup and praised Gen.G’s ability to slow the game down and come back. T1 interim head coach Im Jae-hyeon said his team is tracking Hanwha Life’s early top-lane priority and Gen.G’s organized macro play. The most intriguing part came when AD carries Ruler, Gumayusi and Peyz were asked to assess one another. Gumayusi and Ruler both praised Peyz’s teamfight instincts and mechanical ability. Peyz credited the veterans with vast data and overwhelming experience. Ruler called Gumayusi a strong laner who reads fights well, while Gumayusi highlighted Ruler’s accumulated knowledge, damage angles and consistency. Other players also shared sharp observations. Kiin said Kanavi’s aggression is hard to counter and Keria’s teamfight coordination is on another level. Kanavi, facing Kiin for the first time in the LCK, praised Kiin’s versatility across carries and tanks. Keria echoed that, noting Kiin can play any matchup and fill any role. Hanwha Life came back from a 1-2 deficit to beat T1 3-2 before Gen.G beat Hanwha Life 3-1 in the upper bracket final, with Chovy impressing on Vex. Gen.G enter the final with upper-bracket advantage, while T1 must climb through the lower bracket.
